This is a collaborative project between the Hutchins School and the Hawksdale p-12 College. We invite all Chinese learners from both schools to contribute to this project.
Objects - To introduce our schools in Chinese
Languages used - Mandarin; some English
Task - Students are required to create a video introducing their schools to each other. This may include school's location, different rooms, ovals, facilities, resources, people, etc.
Steps-
Introduce, practise and master key vocabulary sets and grammatical points (sentence patterns) relevant to this topic;
Assign key task and rubrics;
Form pairs and brainstorm the implementation of your video;
Plan by writing/typing a script on what you would like to say in the video;
Show the teachers your final work and get it proofread;
Rehearse the script;
Start filming;
Edit the video and upload it on the wiki page;
Watch each other's video and complete the worksheet using the information from the video;
Reflect on the process using the assessment criteria.
